I’m basically asking if you have been so tempted that you cheated on your plan. For those who are not vegetarians, have you been around a vegetarian who has? I only have three times and last night was one of those times.
Now, I was planning to cook but that went awry so off to a restaurant I went with a friend who also did not want to cook. Ruth’s Chris Steak House which is not too far down the street. I really had the taste for it, but did try to offer some other suggestions since I knew said friend didn’t eat red meat. Said friend was cool with it.
My favorite things there are the au gratin potatoes and petite filet with shrimp. However, this time I ordered a ribeye (lol). What can I say, it was cold, and I was hungry. My friend is the type of “vegetarian” who eats poultry and seafood but ordered some veggie entrée thing.
Everything went fine during the salad and then the food arrived. The steak was perfection I kid you not. Here we are eating this overpriced food and drinking this overpriced wine and all is well I thought. Said friend had a funny look on his face. I finally jokingly asked if he wanted a bite and he said YES!
Ok, no problem. I sliced him a nice big bite and do you know what happened next?
He pushed his dish to the side and ate my steak. :dwl He didn’t completely go primal on me because he did pause to ask if I was going to eat the rest of it. Well, I said I had intended to but I’m good with the au gratin potatoes and spinach. (Clearly, he wanted it wayyy more than I did.)
So, has this happened to you? Does the strong desire to eat meat ever go away if you like it? I’m just curious. (We did talk briefly this morning, and it flew through his system at the speed of light but he doesn’t regret it.)
